As per the introduction, this book is a little different in that it doesn't just focus on the lathe to the exclusion of all other woodworking. It threats the lathe as another essential tool in the workshop with all woodworkers in mind, not just turners, and provides the information necessary to employ turning in furniture making. It also offers valuable advice on buying, maintaining, modifying and repairing lathes.
Chapters include: The Lathe; Holding The Work; Turning Tools; Turning Techniques; Maintenace, Repair and Modification; and finishes with some projects.
This informative 198 page book is heavily illustrated. It was published in 1993 [1st edition] by The Taunton Press [A Fine Woodworking Book]. ISBN 1-56158-057-0. [Approx 25.5 x 20.5 x 1.4 & 600g]
The book is in good condition with all pages tight and clean. There is some residue on the fly leaf where a price sticker has been removed and the cover does have some small marks and creases with the opening edge of the front cover being a little rough (it shows in the first photo).
